What a week!

It’s been another busy week. Luckily Monday was a Bank Holiday here in the UK so I didn’t have to work (which annoyingly means no money as I’m still temping! But a couple of rest days were definitely needed). I also celebrated Easter as only an Apocalypse Girl can, by making a zombie themed Easter Bonnet!

Monday saw my interrogation by Cat Connor go live. You can read my answers to who would turn me gay, my drink preferences and most importantly all about my writing here. It was fun to answer all of Cat’s questions and it’s got me thinking about all the wonderful people in my own life who I’d like to know more about so I might start asking a few questions of my own.

This week was also our third meeting of Resident Writers. The group is still going well and I think we’re generating some buzz (we’re a writers group who actually meets to write, unlike most down here in Exeter). I’m still struggling somewhat with the poetry aspects but it’s a skill I know I need to develop and this week I actually wrote a poem which didn’t see me want to curl up in embarrassment and die so I was quite happy. My partner in crime, Oriana, and I have plenty more plans afoot so keep checking back for more updates and I promise as soon as I’ve edited some of my work I’ll put it on here.

It was also my last week at the temp job I’ve had for a month. I have to be honest, I wasn’t sad to leave. While some of the people I was working with were nice, I was leaving my house at 7.15am every day to walk to the other side of town to catch the bus – door to door was taking 45minutes! I’ve always said that I’m not a morning person but this very much took the biscuit. I’ve been absolutely shattered for the last month, with long hours and a lack of sleep meaning I’ve been tired and grumpy with every one. Was safe to say that hubby and Oriana, and probably everyone else I’ve groused to or at this month, joined me in raising a glass to getting a different job with nicer working hours.

I’ve not written much this week, except at Resident Writers. The other problem with the job I had was that I was too tired to write anything in the evenings and my creativity has suffered but that was last week, there’s new opportunities in the next so bring it on!

Happy Easter!

My Easter bonnet

I think all children love Easter and I was no exception. One thing I remember was the annual tradition of making the Easter bonnet, followed by a parade in front of proud parents and then the giving of the Cadbury’s Creme Egg. Anyway, here’s a pic of one of my creations, proof I had fashion savvy even from a young age.

Wishing you all a peaceful, chocolate filled Easter.
